বন্যাবিধ্বস্ত একাকীত্বের মনভূমি।

মানবতার পতন দেখে ঘৃণার চিৎকার,
ভুল ঠিকানায় আসিনি তো?
শেকড় উপড়ে ফেলে দিতে চাই
মানব শেকড় উপড়ে ফেলতে চাই মাতৃগর্ভের

যে নদে ঝড়ো জল উপেক্ষা করেছ তুমি
মায়ের আহ্বানে দিলে সাড়া
সাঁতরেছ অনেক ঝঞ্ঝা বিক্ষুব্ধ পথস্রোত।
আজও সেই দামোদর বেঁচে বর্তে আছে
আকাশ না পাওয়ার বেদনায় ডুবে মরে যারা
তারা তোমারই মাতৃকুল।
বুকের ওম পেয়ে রেখেছে ক্লান্তির মাথা
নিরাপদ তলভূমি, নিশ্চিন্তে ঘুমায় যেন তারা।
হাত বুলোবে যারা, তাদের তুমি রেখো মাথায়।

একা মরলে রেহাই পেতাম
ওর সঙ্গে যারা দিনরাত নাওয়া খাওয়া
বন্ধ রেখে শুধুমাত্র আলো খুঁজছি;
এখন আঁধার, চরম সংকটের মুখোমুখি।
আমাদের মাতৃভূমির গর্ভ থেকে
শঙ্কিত শিশু ভূমিষ্ঠ হচ্ছে প্রতিনিয়ত।
জন্মভূমির মাটি কাঁপছে ভয়ার্ত বুকে।
ছা-পোষা মিছিল সভা অনশন স্লোগান
শাঁখ – উলুধ্বনিতে সজাগ করছে ভূমিষ্ঠকে।
দু’ডানায় আগলে পোষা শহর গ্রাম
মোমবাতির আলো ছায়ায় আঁতুড় ঘরের উঠান।

ষাট পেরিয়েও এখনও আছি
এখনও চব্বিশের তরতাজা পয়মন্ত যুবক
গোগ্রাসে চাই বাইশের কাছাকাছি

নড়বড়ে শরীর বলে দরজায় দিলাম খিল

এখনও দু’হাতে ভেজাতে চাই শরীর
এখনও জিভে জল আসে তেঁতুল দেখলেই
লোকে বলুক ভীমরতি
আসলে সেও কি সত্যি বলে সে কি চায়

রোজ যখন তখন চুল চোখ মুখ পরিপাটি কিনা
আয়নাতে দেখেছ মুখশ্রী সুন্দর মনোলোভা কিনা
চুল নিয়ে কম বেশি সবার সচেতনতা
রঙিন পোশাকে মানিয়েছ সর্বত্র
সাজানো সংসারে আরো কত কিছুর
সাজো সাজো তুখোড় নিশ্চিন্ত গোছানো
সারা শরীরে যত্নে লুকানো অনেক কিছুই
মনে যা ধরেছে তাই সংসার সুন্দর
কিন্তু কুটিল মনকে সাজাবার হুঁশ নেই
এসো মন সাজাবার কাজে মত্ত হই
ও ঘরে আবর্জনার স্তূপ
পচা দুর্গন্ধে আকাশও বিদ্রূপ করে
গাছ পাতা ফুল ফল খসালে আমরা পারি না কেন

গাঁ গিরামের বোকাসোকা লোকবটি
বুকর কথাট রাখছি বুকর দিয়ালে।
অ বাবুরা, ই ছবিট কার বটে?
ই মেয়াট মুখট ঢাকা কেনে? লাজে না অপমানে?
শুনলম উয়ার, বদলোকের ব্যাটাগুলান ইজ্জত লিছে?
হা পুড়াকপালি, লিখাপড়া শিইখতে গেলি –
মানুষ হ’বি -দশের একজন হ’বি- স্বাধীন হ’বি;
তুদের কথা বইলল যে, সে ত বিদ্যাসাগর!
